In the past month, we have been busy with our client, Dunlop Tyres UK, preparing for the exciting launch of their latest Facebook promotion. We’re happy to announce that the Dunlop Dream Drive app can now be found on Dunlop UK’s Facebook page.
The brief set by Dunlop UK was that they wanted a way of activating a giveaway to win a driving trip on one of Europe’s most iconic routes in a choice of mouth-watering supercars – a prize in itself that would appeal to any self-respecting petrolhead. The challenge was to execute it in a way that offered engagement with the user and that showcased the brands association with some of the most renowned sports cars in the world.
The outcome was a Facebook app that doesn’t just rely on data capture, it also lets the user piece together the components of their dream drive (from choice of car to choosing their co-driver) whilst also utilising Google Maps and Street View to let them explore some of the amazing views they might see on their preferred route.
Both us and Dunlop are really excited to see how this develops, and are confident that it will form quite a centre piece in their social strategy during the summer. Have a go yourself… you never know, it could be you driving a sports convertible through the winding Swiss Alps?
